So, I was bunking an S.St. lecture (for which the teacher didn't show up) in Class 10 with my cousin sister. We were roaming in the school playground. Around 20 minutes into it, the "class monitor" came running and told us that the class teacher was calling us. Apparently our class teacher was the replacement teacher for the S.St. one and was late due to "some work". Some guy ratted us out and that's how we got caught.
She met us outside the class and started off on how we were bunking a lecture and doing who knows what "unholy" stuff in the playground. (Somehow, she didn't know we were cousins inspite of having the same last name 🤷). She said that she will call our parents and see that "this" comes to an end. Both me and my sister were looking at each other with such amused looks.
Come the end of the day and my aunt (sister's mother) shows up and the class teacher tells her the whole scenario. After listening to everything, she just said, "Bhai-behen hain donon aur aapko lg rha ki ye ground main romance kr rhe the." The look on my class teacher's face: a concoction of surprise, shock, embarrassment, and shame.
My parents didn't show up for the disciplinary call because both of them were working at that time. But my mom wrote a one-and-a-half page letter, summarised: even though the kids were in the wrong for leaving the classroom, it only happened because the replacement teacher didn't show up on time. So, if any action was to be taken against them; appropriate action must be taken for the teacher's absence. Man, how I could sense the frustration and resentment (I wasn't a disciplined kid either) when she read all that.
Tad bit long but I thought that it deserved a mention since I never really told this to anyone. Cheers 🍻

Sanskrit is not easy to learn. I am from India and many sanskrit words are used in conversational Tamil that I know, so I had some vocabulary to begin with. I've been studying sanskrit for over 4 years now, and I can barely read and understand the simpler verses in the Bhagavad Gita.

Knowledge of sansrit is **not necessary** to understand the teachings of the scriptures. In fact, even if you know sanskrit, you will still need a guru to explain the teachings to you. If you are interested in learning Sanskrit as an academic exercise, feel free to go ahead. But don't feel like you need to learn Sanskrit to understand the teachings.
