Upgrade the RAM to 8 gigs atleast, and add a SSD for a much smoother experience, highly recommend. The upgrade is cheap and simple to perform.

You can upgrade to Win 11, it'll run fine as only the shell is different, internals are pretty much the same as Win 10. I have ran Win 11 on a first gen i3, and it ran pretty fine.

The Warnings are just to scare you off, it runs fine, won't do any harm to the hardware, just burn the ISO on a USB using Rufus, it'll give you the options to modify the ISO to work with incompatible PCs.
