Digvijay is a man of principles. For sure he failed to rise to fake narrative& BB wanted for him. But he gave so much content in his own way.
Digvijay knew he would never be eliminated if he was with Rajat but he knows what good and bad is. He clearly didn't like Rajats character and chose the weakest team.

Neither did he team up with kashish (which could have been a major boost up. Both of them to together would have taken the show to new heights) but he didn't do that bcz it was against his conscience.

And he trusted his fans and family and did what would they would expect of him.
Unfortunately he made dumb, stupid and revengeful friend
And BB set the whole plot for Shrutika to execute.
