Before the modern era, medieval empires expanded and fell all over the world. The expansion was through wars. The Hindu kingdoms expanded in India which involved killings of thousands of Hindus from their enemy kingdom. Chera Hindus fought and killed thousands of Pandya Hindus in war, same vice versa. Same was in Christian empires in Europe and Muslim empires in middle east and South Asia. People killed each other regardless be it caste, religion or tribe.

Things have changed. You can't keep on blaming people for what their ancestors have done 400 years ago. The whole world has moved on. The people who blame, politicize and spread hate on Indian Muslims for what Mughals did don't blame the the present day in the same scale British for what they had done.
