see , people earn vastly different amounts , if someone is making ₹1 lakh a year and paying ₹10,000 in tax, that is a significant amount for them, while someone making ₹1 crore or much than that, will not be much in comparison , so a flat tax doesn’t consider how much people can afford to give. someone who can afford it easily doesn’t feel that pressure but many will do..

the rich, who already have ways to avoid taxes, will find ways to dodge this 10% as well ,but for the average person, it will be fixed chunk out of their paycheck, but for the wealthy , while everyone technically pays, the wealth gap will grow even wider....

and a lot of people who don’t pay taxes right now don’t do it because they’re poor, not because they’re trying to cheat the system , so if we force everyone to pay, it will make life even harder for those who are already struggling. it will hurt the poor more than it helps the system...

in my POV , maybe a progressive tax system with reforms , where the rich pay more and the poor pay less , makes more sense , people with higher incomes can afford to pay a larger percentage of their income without sacrificing their living standards, while people with lower incomes will be less burdened.

it does not fix the bigger problem of inequality and fairness in the system. Instead of asking everyone to pay the same, we need a system that considers how much each person can truly afford to contribute...
