Bangalorean myself. I do not understand the hate towards non kannadigas. Just yesterday, I saw a video of kannada maatadi issue created in a post office. Post Office is central government org. People who work there are on transferable jobs. Why highlight such people and say kannada maatadi. Then, make a video of it without consent. There is no place for hate.
Having said that, non kannadigas who have made karnataka their home should attempt to learn kannada and respect the culture here. I know many gujarati and marwadi business families who have learned and speak kannada well because they know that if you have to keep a dukaan in karnataka, you will have kannada speaking customers.
Why can't these IT folks learn it. I have teammates living in Bangalore for 5+ years. South Indians pick up kannada easily and but North Indians do not because they have no incentive to learn it. Everyone around speaks hindi or English.
I have seen a few Punjabi comedians doing stand up comedy in kannada. So there are all kinds of people. Just highlighting a few and making nuisance is not serving any purpose.
It takes two hands to clap. Both sides should show respect and live in harmony. It's cheap to make issues out of small things.

Maybe the issue was always there among different sects, it's just that we are more vocal about them now. It's a sensory overload and we need to actively manage our perception of these issues on and off social media. Tbh we seem to be taking issues reported online a bit too seriously.
