I once injured my knee and MRI showed an ACL tear. Went to 4 private hospitals, they all told me I need a surgery (at one hospital the doc literally just did a 5 sec check and concluded I need surgery). Then I checked with AIIMS, they told me all I need is some physiotherapy. They even studied my MRI (they take just the films, not the report, and council of their doctors [and probably students] study it, maybe as an exercise) and told me there’s no need of a surgery. I somewhat didn’t believe AIIMS and went to Safdarjung, thinking maybe AIIMS doc is just slacking and didn’t check me properly due to the rush. Although the doc there didn’t study the films, he too told me all I need is some exercises. So I trusted AIIMS and Safdarjung, did exercises for few months, and recovered.

It took me 4 visits to AIIMS and 1 visit to Safdarjung. It gets very frustrating, takes a whole day of battling the crowd. But it was all worth it for me.
