‘Old MacOS’ is fine as long as you don’t do anything stupid (dodgy websites, unknown downloads). And yes, OCLP is fine with ‘real’ software.

Mindset, flexibility and attitude to learning are number one. I usually reject developers who are very strong minded in what they do and their approach.

Ability to work in agile environment and as a team member is number two. Too many are very rigid and unable to work in situations where initiative and experimentation is needed. Also seen many that want to be left alone and code.

Existing technical skills are third on the list. There has to be some experience but it’s not the most important thing. I’d rather look for someone with T shaped skills that highly specialised person with unwillingness to do anything beyond their specialty.
