I studied from SSC and Marathi was compulsory till 10th.


Even scored 70 marks out of 100 in Marathi.


But still i can't speak fluent Marathi ( can understand very well though) because I am from a cosmopolitan area of Mumbai (Sindhi camp) and grown up with buddies from all linguistic identities. 


Now , take example of my BIL , he studied from CBSE but he lived in navi Mumbai surrounded by 90 percentage of marathi friends. He can speak fluently , infact his marathi is very similar to Agri Marathi., many times he get a pass in government offices, traffic violation due to his fluency in the language . 


But anyway this is a good step , but I still cannot fathom how will govt. job holders who have frequent postings will cope with this language.,.like let's say you studied in KV/ CBSE board in a school in Rajasthan till 7h and now your father is posted in Mumbai, now how come this kid will learn Marathi in 8th standard ???
