Post Independence, this has been one of most neglected of regions .
One cannot force patriotism or indian culture on a population that had largely been isolated .
That pillar has been there for a long time .We need to know about the history behind this and the situation that led to its erection .
We also do not know the current governments stance about the situation because as far as the centre is concerned, everything including Manipur is just fine .
