Even in Bengaluru where the actual airport is like 30km from city centre, there is atleast a direct train connection. When I go to Mumbai I don't even see buses at the airport which is weird to me because there are so many buses on airport approach road of the KIA. Is this due to auto mafia??

Not sure what your point is, ITC reached ₹250 in 2014 and as of now is about ₹440. Let’s say you held it for those 10yrs you mentioned in your post, you made an annual return of 5-6%. RIL held from 2008 to now also gives similar returns of about 6%.

If you held these stocks for these long time frames, you’ve lost a lot in opportunity cost. Risk adjusted returns being abysmal.

While maybe I understand what you’re trying to get at, but selecting stocks in hindsight is always easy and you can cherry pick any time frame to suit your narrative. Bull and bear market are a feature, now whether one is capable of sustaining that, only time will tell. Bear market can last a very long time too. This would be my first bear market as an investor and not sure if my sentiments change with time around my invest philosophy.
