sudden mosquito influx?
yes, in Thiruvanmiyur where I live, its lingering past the usual timeframe. Last year, by the time rains/winter had subsided and summer was starting (around Feb), mosquito menace had also subsided. This year, its just lingering! -

महाराष्ट्रातही असा कायदा लवकरात लवकर लागू करायला हवा!
Sorry to say, but all Marathi civil servants and politicians are puppets of the Parsi and Gujarati lobbies. The Parsi community has always wanted Maharashtra to either become a Union Territory or the most multicultural state. In the past, Maharashtra was never a multicultural state—more than 80% of its population was always Marathi and of Marathi origin.
Thanks to the promotion of the Hindi language and the three-language formula by Marathi leaders, large-scale migration has taken place in Maharashtra. As a result, the Marathi population in the state has now fallen below 60%. No wonder Maharashtra might become a Union Territory in the next 10 years. Due to increasing multiculturalism, Marathi people will lose their political power, primarily because of their middle-class mentality. -

Why are people patriotic in the most cringe way?
That's not patriotism. That's an assertion of identity. Cringe patriotism is when India accomplishes something that almost everyone else has done and some random dude writes 'proud to be Indian'. For example, when toilets were built by the government, the number of people makes it common sense that the numbers will be huge. But when someone says its the largest mission of such a type in the world, some people feel proud. That's basic necessity, something to be content with and not be proud of.
What ISRO does makes us proud. What our tech professionals are doing around the world is another example. Even building the largest status, I can say.
What you saw in theaters was not patriotism but an association of identity. Many groups of people have felt neglected by the mainstream for a long time, either because of lack of acknowledgment or misrepresentation of history either by mistake or my deliberation. So when this group finally feels their identity being recognized, it comes out as an uncontrollable surge of pride which seems cringe to many who don't relate to it.
I think it's a temporary thing. When bulls move, they blow the dust. The dust settles by the evening. -

Why Air India is wasting Ex Delta aircraft on domestic route?
This plane was used on the Delhi to SF route. Air India has an MRO in Nagpur, so I’m assuming it went into maintenance. Could also possibly be a retrofit for the new cabin/livery although I highly doubt that because they never changed the Delta interior for business class in these planes.
This 777 was the plane that diverted from SF to LA last December for whatever reason so could be mechanical?
