Humans are designed in a specific way where the body needs rest after work. It also needs food and shelter. During all this, humans will decide a time frame in which all of this is done. There are also a set of rules that the scripts mention as to how a daily routine should be. Which, eventually is being followed, somewhat.

This time frame of life for humans restricted them to allow themselves to do certain things. They themselves have decided what to do, when and how. This applies practically to everything where the workflow is in accordance to their comfort and ease of execution.

Temples are closed because of the time frame of the humans. God does not sleep in terms of human's clock cycle. For us, HE is always in existence and awake, but we can always decide when to connect with Him.

Another interesting theory is that specific times during the 24 hour cycle will have certain energies that are more active than other times. These are energies which will have more positive responses with regards to the power and strength of the vibrations and frequencies of the energies.

This is governed by the planetary alignments and the Earth's rotational axis around the Sun, which we, in simple terms called 'Tithis' and 'auspicious' times do do certain things.

When we pray, we 'think' of certain things. These 'certain things' that we think, create vibrations and frequencies which generate energies. These then sync with the energies of the Universal Divine Rays and help us to connect with them. This is what connecting with God is.

Which is precisely why our scriptures have given us a set of rules for praying and has certain specific times and even directions when this will gain the desired results in it's fullest form and potential.

Even so, God knows if you are busy with your daily life and you may be finding it difficult to connect. But as He is all knowing, He will only test your faith and sincerity when you are praying. It also makes sense when you think of how much time and devotion you are ready to commit when it comes to God and your own self.

When someone says it is difficult to utilize the time for something, it only means their priorities in that time are different for something else that needs to be done for their own reasons. So, if you need to pray, it is you who decides when to, because at other times, your priorities may be different.

If you sincerely do want to pray at the right time, mornings are the best when you could be able to wake up at least 30 minutes earlier than usual and do it. After all, what is praying? it is just establishing a connection with God, isn't it? And why do we pray? Mostly to gain benefits, right? So if you want some benefits from God, isn't it morally right to approach Him according to His time?

And even if you don't seek anything from Him and just wish to express gratitude, it is only fair to reach Him in a way when the alignment is right, so that the message reaches. Otherwise, people often say that even after praying so many times, God does not listen.

This is just an opinion and an expression of thoughts. None of the above in any way is directed towards implying anything upon anyone. Everyone has their own right and privilege to do everything and anything according to their own comfort and understanding of things.
