I love the idea of community coming together and doing some activities in public commons. However, since its a public place gathering of so many people does need a permission. It’s wiser to have an MoU with the authorities so that these events can be comfy peacefully. People don’t gather in a large group during silent reading session. And they take group photo at the end and that can be a huge crowd. Blaming authorities on this is not so great. It would have been the same in any place if there are more than 300 people.
