It’s not the large population but the attitudinal apathy of the this large population, not one sent of regard for collective goals and interests!
Chinese have forced this through years of hard communism and social conditioning! But who cares we are still thriving in a democratic setup unlike poor Chinese!

Some observations as someone who has been running to hospitals since 2019 for different family members.


1. Doctors refusing to perform certain operations if you apply through government insurance programs like (UMID). I have seen 3 doctors refuse to operate on an accident patient unless the patient family paid in cash. Rumour is that this is because the government/insurance payment for these operations are much lower than what they can charge when it is paid in cash. Also apparently the government payment often comes in years later, in percentages.

2. The hospital often refuses certain treatments if you are applying through government schemes or insurance. They have different codes for services for people applying through insurance/schemes and those paying with cash.

3. Often if your insurance cover is for 10 lakhs, and your treatment is for 2-3 lakhs, they keep the patient in the hospital for a few more days to squeeze extra money from the insurance companies. The insurance agents are often in cahoots with the hospital in such cases where they leak the insurance cover amount to the hospital.

4. The total treatment estimate is higher if you pay in cash vs if you pay through insurance. A cash payment treatment estimate of 2.5lakhs means the same treatment estimate will cost 3.5 to 4 lakhs if you pay via insurance.

5. A lot of doctors are never on time. They will schedule OPD appointments and make people sit and wait for long hours. The standard response from the receptionist in such cases is "doctor is in OT", which is not true most of the time.

6. A lot of items are showed as "required" on the bill which often aren't. I saw a bill where the patient was charged for 10 gloves a day for dressing a wound. The actual number of wound dressing was once a day.

7. The blood bank industry is a joke(especially for rarer blood groups). Often blood banks will straight up refuse giving you are blood groups even if you have legit slips and even if they have stock. On multiple occasions, I have had government blood banks say they don't have any units but then later on convincing them(not using money) they allocated a unit.private blood banks often don't want to give units unless they get a premium on it or unless you go through people with contacts.

No such letter is necessary.  AFAIK this is requirement by only one organisation based in hawaii.  In fact no conversion ceremony is necessary.  If you believe in hinduism, practice hinduism and identify as such then you are hindu. Name change can be only for some hindu ritual purposes, legal name change is upto you.

As you are one of the pioneering converts in your region, you will have to struggle a bit. I am sure when hinduism spread to south east asia first time, locals who converted must have struggled too. But look at bali now, it is fully self contained with no need of any contact from India. You have opportunity to go down in history as founder of Italian hinduism


You can discuss stuff with us here if Indians in local temples are not very approachable. Your community can be online.   Just go to temple to have closer experience of divine. Experience of temple is beyond language,  there is no need to understand what is being said exactly.  Most Indian hindus do not understand sanskrit and do not get lot of what is being said in rituals. But that is okay. Rituals work at subconscious level, mystical level. Just empty your mind, stop constant analysis and just experience, just sit and look at murtis in the temple. Also those Indians in temple who do not know italian may be able to speak english. Try english.

Forget Managers, focus on yourself. Apply your mind to achieve greatness. You have only one life and don't waste thinking about feeling good by merely a pep talk. I lived 6 years in UAE. It's a very expensive place to live in and with the salary given to Indians, there's little scope for savings unless you really compromise on comfort.

Besides, job insecurity is high and remember, if you lose your job there you have to leave the country within 30 days. Getting a change while you're there isn't easy.

No doubt, life is comfortable as compared to living in India. Ultimately it's down to whether you reckon it's a fair trade off for the uncertainty and the sense of alienation. I lived there for 6 years. It never felt like home.
