I used to travel by Shivneri Bus 🚌 between Mumbai and Pune. Once, while eating Hide and Seek biscuits, a piece fell on the floor. After finishing my snack, I picked up the biscuit for some reason and held onto it. At the next bus stop, I got off (maybe to buy a bottle of water) and threw the biscuit and its wrapper in the bin. Interestingly, a person sitting in the second row, who had been littering, noticed me and cleaned up his own mess, disposing of it properly in the bin, followed by another person too.

If you want to get slowly involved in the markets, then please don't start with day trading or any of the million shite variants people will try to sell you.

Paper trade some longer term strategies that force you to think a little about what's driving the broad market or the stock, like poor mans covered calls, ITM leaps as a proxy for long stock, maybe try some 40 dte credit spreads with stop loss, take profit bracketing, try debit spreads vs long calls into earnings to learn about vol behaviour etc.

This might lead you to think a little more about the why not just the what, also learning how to use options in a risk managed way could be really useful down the line. You will also see its not all that easy.

The majority of day trading strategies are just trading noise and randomness you can waste a lot of time trying to learn complicated rules that have no basis in reality, they may randomly work for a while but market variation is not 10101010101 its more like 1111110110011111, 000000100000111 you can have a run of heads or tails in a random sequence, don't get fooled by it. And do not pay anyone to learn this!

I use technicals for entry exit, stop loss/take profit levels etc but I only use indicators I can rationalise, i.e. I have a theory why they work, otherwise your prone to overfitting, data snooping/mining etc.

It is possible to make 50-100% return in a year on a small portfolio (5-6 figures) but generally from what I see (and I coach a lot of people) the people doing that have been lucky or good on leaps mainly on PLTR, SOFI, SOUN etc or they are making 20-30% running a high maintenance market making delta neutral strategy.

Sorry to break it to you and I'm sure I will be downvoted on this but 99% of what people think is trading is just putting more nickels in the slot machine.

I know this because I come from the professional trading/investing world, believe me if you can deliver 20-30% a year with low risk over the last few years the Multi Strat funds would give you a sub pm seat and 500m to play with, 10-20% profit cut and a 5-10% stop loss....

Those seats are hard to get and harder to keep even for professional market makers and they are trading exactly the same market as you.

Anyway some free advice, I don't have anything to sell, I don't have the time to pump a community on here to sell a course or whatever.

Markets are amazing always be a part of my life, had my best and my worst days in markets, but they are a marathon not a sprint, you need to keep running and eventually you will get it.
