How do I get rid of these annoying notifications every time I open my Mac and unlock it. How do I keep it from popping up every time it’s getting annoying having to clear them every single time and day.
To stop these notifications from appearing every time you unlock your Mac, follow these steps:
1. Disable Notifications for Specific Apps
You can turn off notifications for Wi-Fi Calling, Brave Browser, and other apps that keep sending alerts.
For macOS Ventura or later:
1. Go to System Settings:
• Click the Apple menu () > System Settings.
• Select Notifications from the sidebar.
2. Find the App:
• Scroll through the list and select apps like Brave Browser, Wi-Fi Calling, Spotify, etc.
3. Disable Notifications:
• Toggle off Allow Notifications for the app.
• If you don’t want banners or alerts, set the Alert Style to None.
2. Disable Wi-Fi Calling Notifications
Wi-Fi Calling notifications keep appearing because your Mac is connected to your iPhone’s calling system.
To disable it:
1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
2. Go to Phone > Wi-Fi Calling.
3. Turn off Add Wi-Fi Calling for Other Devices.
4. Then go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices and disable it for your Mac.
3. Stop Background Apps from Showing Notifications
Apps like Spotify may add background processes that trigger notifications.
1. Go to System Settings > General > Login Items.
2. Look for Spotify or other apps listed under Allow in Background.
3. Disable unnecessary background items.
4. Disable Device Connection Notifications
Your Mac notifies you when a new device (iPhone) connects to your Apple ID.
To stop this:
1. Open System Settings > Apple ID (at the top).
2. Click Sign-In & Security.
3. Turn off Allow Device Notifications.
5. Turn Off Persistent Notifications
If some notifications still appear, you can enable Do Not Disturb or Focus Mode to suppress them:
1. Click on the Control Centre in the top-right menu bar.
2. Enable Do Not Disturb or set a Focus Mode.
This will prevent pop-ups when you unlock your Mac.
6. Restart Your Mac
Once you’ve made these changes, restart your Mac to ensure the settings take effect.
After applying these settings, you should no longer see repetitive notifications every time you unlock your Mac. -

I’m of South Indian descent and am transgender (male to female). I’m looking for a new name that sticks to my roots (grandparents are from Hyderabad)
I'm a trans woman and a lesbian and I've not had many issues with this thread. Except for some crazies trying to tell me that I'm less of a woman than cis women. I'm post-op, behan, so if you ever want to talk about the experience, please reach out because I've been out and living 24/7 for 10 years. And on HRT for 10 years. Congrats on choosing a new name, darling. That's a big step!! -

Did Google change something in approx September 2024?
Google has lost the plot and they're doing a lot of questionable things to search. My site (which was always small blew) up for a year in 2023, then got slammed by an update that fall. Now it's doing well again. Thing is, I haven't changed anything and just do what I've been doing for nearly 10 years.
Apparently, search wasn't growing enough so they purposely made it worse to make people use it more back in 2019. It's likely subsequent updates follow the same philosophy. My guess is they are trying to find a sweet spot that will yield maximum profits while not angering users too much. You probably got the short end of the stick this time around.
It's possible that some of the changes are for noble reasons, like discouraging spam, but it's anyone's guess.
My unsolicited advice is to just keep making good content and let things iron themselves out. You may have a few bad months or a bad year, but it should work out. You could also share links or on social media, reddit is a good place for that as long as the mods of whatever sub you post on don't mind. -

Can someone explain the benefit of "scaling in" to me?
This depends on your strategy, if you are scalping then scaling in is likely going to make less of an impact.
But for me, a swing trader, it can be a huge help, it goes like this.
If my position is $100, I put in $50 as my initial entry, if it fails on the breakout, which happens, then I can exit with 1/2 the normal loss of a full position.
If it goes my way I can add to have $75 after 1-2% over my entry. If it continues to act good then you can add the other $25 at another 1-2% over the prior entry.
Profits are in the 20% range so giving up 2-4% on half position is really nothing in comparison to the insurance that was paid in case the trade failed immediately.
Yes there is still always the risk that the trade could fail but in a nutshell you want to fail fast. -

Should Startup Messaging Focus on Mission or Product?
As a consumer/user I’ve got an overwhelming number of choices to do good, I unfortunately need a solution first, and then that using it is also a good thing.
Add something good to my life first, and then help me prefer your solution by it also being the most ethical choice. -
