I think there should be more seats reserved in parliament for NE and also each tribe should have their own representation at parliament. The representation of NE is so poor that many people don't even know about NE being a part of India, that is why NE people face racism in their own country.

If NE was not to be a part of India then it would probably be under large scale civil unrest and each tribe fighting for their identity and claiming land.

Representation of NE at parliament is a first step only, it is not going to solve much but still having your representation will help counter many emergency issues.
To find a good political leader is next to impossible things.

A political party of young generation people with equal representation from each tribal group who are like minded should come together with the good intention of betterment of their region and people, promoting their culture and investing in infrastructure. Current leaders might be power hungry only. Maintaining good relations with the central government would help a lot, but in the process it is important to protect your own culture and intrests.

I'm realising more and more that the stereotypes of us Indians outside India are totally valid and not baseless at all. We just think our shit doesn't stink.
