i watched hindi movies ,tv shows for decades and you will 50% learn by knowing words and meaning but the fluency and sentence formation is difficult you can only learn by talking to others and regular exposure

and getting hindi friends is also not easy in chennai even if you get hindi friends they will be educated and say don't worry you can speak in english but for me i did pickup somewhat from one friend who was patient to communicate with my broken hindi so if you meet such friends you can learn
