Then of course, there's the part of the fourteenth amendment about disqualification from office. It prohibits individuals, like Trump for instance, from holding office if they've engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the United States.

There's also the privileges or immunities clause. Which is, I suppose, a lesser known part of the fourteenth. Its original aim was to ensure that citizens of each state were entitled to the same privileges and immunities as citizens of other states.

Now, put all this together and it becomes obvious why Republicans might want to modify or repeal the fourteenth amendment, especially as they begin consolidating power come next term.
