Ranbir is more popular/ bankable of the two right now but Ranveer is a far superior/ versatile actor in my books.

Ranveer could do a Barfi but Ranbir could never do a Gully Boy. Some of Ranbir's best performances (Barfi and Sanju) can veer into caricature territory while I didn't get that impression watching Ranveer become Kapil Dev.

I'll take a Ranveer in Simba over a Ranbir in Besharam. Even when they play similar roles, rich urban boys for example (DDD for Ranveer vs an ADHM for Ranbir) there are parts in ADHM where Ranbir tries to portray a sense of innocence/ naivety to his character in a way that makes it look like he might have a developmental disability - the scene where he meets Ash at the airport comes to mind. His performances can be inconsistent in the same film!

And in terms of darker characters, doesn't Ranveer's Khilji blow Ranbir's Vijay out the water?

I like them both! Rockstar and Tamasha were flawless performances by Ranbir but again, Ranveer could have done them too, you know?
