One thing you can do is go to “System Settings” >> “Accessibility” >> “Display” and scroll down to Pointer settings, allowing adjustments such as the colors, size and zoom effects.

I do not know of a way to give it entirely different shapes though, especially since apps can override this themselves.

This whole situation looks like a planned move by big OTT giants to suppress IGL. Samay was always against selling streaming rights to any company, and without any PR or marketing, he built IGL into a huge success just with the support of the community. This was something new an independent creator making a big show without any big company backing him.
