The reason why tech guys fight so hard for H1B is because 1 they can underpay talented engineers from overseas and 2. H-1B employees are basically indentured servants. They do not have the freedom American employees in the tech sector have. A great example of this was Musks takeover of twitter. A lot of those H-1B employees could not quit because they needed their visas to stay in America with their families. Most of them were the ones that got brutalized by Elon's power trip.
