I think you're not getting the way they are trying to make the argument. They are using a hyperbole to add a shock value to their argument but they're not wrong. I am not saying women are burden but the way laws are setup and the whole system of alimony treats women like some sort of sub par human who can't take care of themselves and require constant support from their husband. If there is child involved they should obviously get child support but the judiciary is setup in such a way that even if the woman is immature, abusive or bad mother, she would still get child support and eventually use the child support on herself rather than the child.
