Completely disagree. Judit will say cause she is exceptional. But there are very few women playing chess , so the probability of absolute top players is less. Also, historically to ,we were always in a disadvantage, and the historical disadvantage is carried through geberations. Vaishali is GM, and that's very great. Finite series are generally a good idea. They should be planned accordingly though with a set story and number of episodes in mind (not an afterthought based on TRPs). 

A good story arc with exposition, rising action, climax, falling action and resolution are essential story parts. 

There may need to be some experimentation and trial/error for the number of episodes for the target audience but I am sure this can be achieved. For instance, it might be too much of a change to go from current 300-500 episode shows/generations to 30 episode shows for the typical ITV audience so they may have so try something like 150 episodes (\~6 months) to begin with. 

The problem with transforming existing shows (eg Ghum) into finite series (maybe in the form of seasons) is that they typically just kill off the leads and introduce a new generation. This is not ideal from an audience perspective because it often lacks the resolution part of the story. I prefer if makers don’t traumatize the audience with grim endings for each generation/season. 

I think it would be better to have seasons with separate, but finite, stories (no legacy nonsense) each season. Or just start a new show if the stories don’t really have anything in common.
