You know why so many Biharis go after government jobs? It’s because most people here live a pretty restricted life. Government colleges in most towns are awful. Like in our city, colleges take 4 or even 5 years to give out a degree. And private MNCs don’t even bother with these graduates since the colleges are seen as trash. The best they might get is a job paying ₹20-25k in places like Noida. So yeah for most people, a government job is the only way to improve their financial situation.

And yeah, some people might chase government jobs for dowry but thats not the majority. If you check out coaching institutes, you’ll see most people just want a decent, stable income to live better
