What traction do you have? How long did the raise take start to finish? Any good resources you’d suggest to get read up on pre-seed funding process/strategy?

I have sadly had to do this a few times. And I have had it done to me. Sometimes there has been mental illness involved, or sometimes it’s just a terrible phase in one person’s life that they cannot handle more than what they are dealing with in their own lives (although it’s also hard for them to see that perhaps having a friend by their side would be helpful). In any case, it sucks all around, including because you may also need them and they are not around. I am an introvert and I also have very few close friends so I understand how that feels. Sorry about all of this.

You have done all that you can do to reach out. The ball has been in their court and they’re not playing. It could be a phase, or it could be the end of the friendship. But I think for your own mental health, best to walk away, at least for now. Reaching out and not hearing back can be very demoralising, so stop putting that pressure on yourself because you’ve put in enough effort already. Things may eventually go back to a good place or they may not. But for now, at least a break from all this is what you need.
