Use Cloudflare only if you want to use their DNS.

Use Namecheap or any other reputable provider if you want to add custom nameservers.

Domains should cost no more than $15 yearly for standard TLDs like .com, .net, .org, etc.

Don’t overthink it. Just make sure you look at renewal prices. Often, registrars will offer juicy deals for the first year then the renewals are marked up.
