I too had given money when my cab driver.Druing the ride, after apparently speaking on the phone, he was sobbing that his daughter got kicked out of school for not paying school fees and had to go pick her up after dropping me at metro station. My dumb ass went to the atm in the metro station and withdrew 5K and gave it to him. This was a decade ago, I was heading to join a new job on that date if not I would have asked him to take me to the school so that I could fight them. I realised myself a few days later it was a scam because he never received a phone call. I became more vigilant after that and many such incidents.
