Ok crossing the rail tracks are like people's most convenient way. No one likes to climb like 50 steps to cross the rails. I personally follow the road rules strictly, even me at sometimes when I felt tired of climbing I will cross the tracks.

Of its not a good thing to do, but it would be nice if some alternative and safe way comes. Most railway stations doesn't have an Escalator or Lift too.

I love the design of analog, they are almost always clean, give information needed at a glance and don't look cluttered. I don't mind digital if its done right but analog has something special, a feel of something mechanical just ticks something inside.
