Why cant we become rich by investing most of our money for first 5 years, living like a monk initially?
Depends on what "rich" means. it would be different figures for different people. in numerical terms is 50L rich, 1 Cr, 2 Cr? etc.
I am not suggesting that its not a great way to live and start building a corpus. but to have a serious kind of money either the starting package has to be very good (and that too in hand and not CTC) or the run way has to be little longer -
Amul using Rohit’s drop catch and the subtle reference of Axar made me chuckle. Well done Amul!!
Amul Ads have always been quirky. Remember the "maa ki" incident between Bhajji and Symonds? 😄😄

Mizos are based on cringe?
Iam a Mizo and do not support this pledge they try to force it down one's throat.
Our society is patriarchal but majority of times its the women who are more hard working or outgoing as compared to the men. Hence its the women who are getting married off to other communities. While the men (99%) prefer to marry within the community.
The issues are various but will highlight a few:
Not saying the men are useless or anything but majority of them lack ambition or the urge to get out there and achieve something. This is because after marriage majority of them continue to stay in their parent's/ancestral home and majority of times its the parents looking after the household, so its easy for many to get lazy due to this spoon feeding.
Mizoram is a Christian dominated state and the church is very strong that it can dictate and enforce all most all customs or traditions to follow by using the name of God. Being a Christian myself I often find myself questioning what logic (such as this post for example) does God's teaching has to do with it. Like for another example there are rules on wedding too if you are allowed to get married at Church or not (no mention in the Bible), the rules for bridesmaid/Groom's mate (no where in any christian scriptures), what clothes can and cannot be worn to Church, etc, many arbitrary rules are enforced using the name of God which is exactly what God mentioned would happen.
As mentioned since religion plays into the daily lives of the people, so right from infancy they are exposed to the rituals / practices of the Church. Hence most of the free time is occupied by going to or doing the various Church activities, which if you dont will be looked upon as an outcast. So academics is very secondary and more importance given to spirituality, which I feel leads to this lack of ambition for achievement in the majority. This eventually leads to the youth preferring to become pastors or missionaries since its achieved the status equivalent to a govt job (not joking)
Another issue is that many feel we are a dying tribe with a total population of around 15-18 lakhs, every year we lose many youths due to drugs and alcohol (we are a dry state for the last decade!!), hence the feeling that we are not producing enough children and losing our women to other communities.
Due to lack of ambition very few Mizo youths do not want to venture out of the state and when they do its mainly for undergraduate degrees. There is a separate quota for medical stream which is also highly sought, but the surprising thing is majority of the students will go for Arts degree and hardly any for Engineering or Commerce stream, so once they finish or drop out, majority (9 out of 10) of them will come back home and look for a suitable job irrespective of what the scenarios is like. This leads to high competition for state govt jobs, which has very few openings.
As i mentioned women are more hard working and outgoing, so many of the women who step out of the state tend to stay out and continue working and send back money home. Eventually when they look for suitable husbands they find most of the men there lacking and hence many women for the past 3-4 decades have been marrying men of other communities while the men (1 out 10, is a very high estimate) would marry outside.
Before I forget, the women (working outside the state) who do marry within the community are forced to quit their jobs and move in with their husbands since the husband is not willing to relocate outside the state even when she has a very well and stable paying job ( i have personally seen many situations like this)
Both my sisters who are highly qualified have gone through this and found the men lacking and are now married to wonderful husbands who are not from my state.
Being a doctor myself, I often find that due to low population and low gene pool, distant consanguineous marriages are often and this is leading to inbreeding, hence the future off springs are getting genetically weaker.
We are in a difficult situation, not as bad as the Parsis, but getting some fresh genes mixed in, from the outside, would definitely help in revival of the community. Concept of maintaining pure blood in today's world is utter foolishness. -
