In my opinion, getting into a relationship and marriage should actually make you more of yourself and not something else. A couple should actually help them grow and not tailor their partner for their needs.

I have been a migrant for over 20 years now, within India and outside. And I have always known that there are always going to be some people who will hate me for where I am from, what I speak, what I eat, and my cultural background.

The key is to just acknowledge that there are always good and bad people, and do not let this hate get the better of you. You should always try to have a very narrow focus on your own life goals, and things which matter to you most.

Canada always had racists like any other place. The anonymity that social media provides makes them bolder. A decade back, Chinese were the targets, now it is directed to Indians. In a few years from now, it will be some other group.

Though engineering still receives the same treatment for many it did change perceptions. 3 Idiots, in my opinion, is one of the greatest movies ever made. Indians are exceptionally good at following directions. From generation to generation. We question nothing that is difficult.

In this case, the age old thinking of "sex bad" is a directive given centuries ago that is being followed and passed down without question. It's also difficult to have a conversation about it with kids so people just avoid it.

I think it's both these factors.
