What to do when someone rings you doorbell at 4:30 am?

I woke up with constant barking of a stray dogs. Which is not that uncommon. Until now, because my society has a lot of houses and apartment buildings, I used to go out and scare the dogs away no matter what time it was because I believed no one would dare committ a crime when help was just a shout away. Idk. This is a safe society overall. So I did not wear my specs. Grabbed and coat and climbed down the stairs. I was only a couple of...

    Dock stuck

For my m1 MacAir, I have always used two external monitors with my laptop monitor and displaylink and had no problems. If I moved my mouse to a different screen and dragged it to the bottom, the dock would show up, just as I intended. All three monitors in a horizontal line. Computer updated to Sequoia 15.0 this morning and the dock would not move when I bring it to the bottom of a screen. 15.3 then popped up and I installed that. I toggled automatically hide and show...

Advice from you, the experts, about how to learn SEO from beginner to expert?

Hi there everyone! I've decided to turn over a new leaf in 2025 and set the goal of becoming (a long time from now) an expert in SEO. I'd like to start a small business and make my own website, so I'm trying to find resources to teach myself marketing and SEO in particular and see how far I can go. All of you seem like very educated professionals and I was wondering if you could point me at some materials to get myself started, or a learning path....

Need help with transcribing and translating Odisha Palm Leaf Manuscript

Hi I have several palm leaf manuscripts in the Odia script that I am planning on transcribing, but I need some help. If I can get some background and the first few sentences of a single palm leaf, I can put together the information for the leaves in the bundle. For instance, what does this say: https://preview.redd.it/pbme14lrmmfe1.jpg?width=1413&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58bf6c838f9a6e8ca763d80c372d31f1f4508759 Thanks...

China released Deepseek AI and Silicon Valley is fretting about it. Where do India stand in this process?

We should be scared that our neighboring country is becoming an equal to USA. Deepseek is all in house made , from their engineers who didn't go abroad for education. While we are here spending ridiculous amount of money and time playing dirty politics, demolishing and rebuilding temples, giving plenty of resources to so called "spiritual gurus" , blissfully being ignorant about future of India...other countries have different vision. At least in 1960's , villages were self sustained and hardly depended on cities. Look where we are now as...

    My hostel room.

The single room(6*6) was quite depressing for me initially, upon pondering upon how the negative vibes off it, I realised I'm unable to do my daily puja at hostel, and I'm missing a puja space, with no plan to set up , it became so much very soon, and I don't regret, this is like the peace corner of my room, while sleeping also it feels like the divine is watching me, truly serene. The ganesh ji was gifted to my by my favourite teacher(it all started from here, he along...

Small Rant from an old timer

I grew up in Mumbai in the 80’s and 90’s. Borivali, specifically. From Gorai, upto the foothills of national park, it felt like a lush tropical botanical garden. Many or most roads were ‘kaccha’ - native red earth, there were ponds EVERYWHERE, with permanent and semi- permanent water buffalos grazing in them. Ponds in places you would even think of imagining. When it rained, the gutters filled with CLEAR water, tons of crabs of various sizes would come out. Turtles large and small resided in these ponds and would...

Looking for a cofounder who loves political satire & memes - i will not promote

Anyone know the best way to find a cofounder who's be down to rebuild / pivot / revamp a concept i already built out? With Trump back in office and doing ridiculous things, there's gotta be an appetite for satirical commentary via game or website? Like i'm looking for someone who appreciates Bush Shoot Out or Goat Simulator with a burning desire to make something similarly significant. What's the best way to find someone with more taste?
