Could I have done something different? This was on the NH44 from Hyderabad to Bangalore. I was at around 80-90kmph and the car in front of me brakes hard. I had to make sure there was no one behind me and luckily for me the rapid on the left had moved into the shoulder (kudos to the driver for the quick thinking) The bike in front, I believe had just take a U-turn. The car in front could've have gradually braked but for some reason maybe didn’t see the bike or was distracted while driving…... 5 20 replies
Back in Kochi after years! Need your foodie & fun recommendations Hi Guys, I’m excited to be back in my hometown after a few years! This trip is extra special because it's my 2 year-old daughter's first time experiencing Kochi, and I'm also finally showing my in-laws around the city they've only heard stories about. To make the most of our time, I'm looking for your best recommendations for: * Must-try restaurants: From traditional Kerala cuisine to street food and cafes, I'm open to all suggestions! Kid-friendly options are a big plus. * Things to do with a toddler: Parks,... 3 2 replies
Sunday morning shower thoughts :Are Stock Market Movements Just Philosophy in Disguise? So, I've been thinking about the stock market recently—not in the "investing genius" way, but in the "what even is this madness" way. Everyone talks about fundamentals, technicals, algorithms, macro trends, blah blah blah. But deep down, is the market just luck wrapped in a thin layer of human rationalization? Here’s the thing: If we live in a deterministic universe (big "if" there), every move in the market—from a billionaire’s impulsive trade to my panic-selling of Tata motors last week—was already "written" by the laws of physics and cause-effect... 4 9 replies
Buying unused unsold EV a good idea? I have decided to buy an EV with a tight budget. Went to the dealer and found a sweet deal (almost 50% discount) on a 2023 June manufactured, pre facelift variant of a car that is a category above what I was expecting to buy in my budget. Now the thing is that this car has been sitting in the dealers inventory for about 1½ years now and it is almost brand new with 3 km on the odometer and 44% SoC. I believe this vehicle was never charged... 5 2 replies

How to organise out an absolute mess of file types with duplicates, versions, and temporary system/app files I've decided to take on a project at work which involves sorting through the contents several HDDs and organising them into usefully navigable folders. The HDDs were used as backup for photos and video. They include several file types, but I'm only interested in saving the media files- a mixture of images and video. Photo and video files - comes in multiple formats: JPGs, TIFs, PSDs and various proprietary camera manufacturer formats (.CR2, .NEF, .ARW, etc.) I'd like to end with 2 folders: 1. \_ALL IMAGES 2. \_ALL VIDEO... 4 3 replies
