Barefoot at the Statue of Wisdom: Oh, the Irony

So here I am, a humble tourist at the Thiruvalluvar statue of wisdom in Kanyakumari, hopping barefoot across sun-scorched tiles because, apparently, wisdom demands sweaty feet and burnt soles. Respect, they said. tradition, they said. Sure, fine! But wait, when someone dares suggest adorning Thiruvalluvar with a Kaavi robe, the DMK goes into full meltdown mode, shouting “sangithanam” like it’s the end of secularism as we know it. Excuse me? Is this not the same sangithanam when we’re all shoe/slipper-less in the name of reverence? Or does political ideology...

Where to find startup job postings?

Just wondering where or what websites people generally look at for job postings for startups I applied to swe internships for the first time this year as a freshman and didn’t realize that online assessments would go to spam. So now I’m trying to target for smaller companies and start ups that would be more flexible with hiring an intern this late, so where would I look for this? I already searched for the forum for a bit and found a few websites, but the post were years old...

    Gujarati Business Podcasts

Hi guys, As we all know Gujarat is regarded as one of the most successful states in generating world class businessmen. I was wondering if anyone knows of Podcasts/Youtube videos/Books of our Gujarati businessmen talking about their principles? I feel like tapping into our own knowledge as well and not just the usual American content out there. Would really appreciate your recommendations. Thanks

Guidance Needed: Moving from Assam to Noida (Sector 62)

I’ve recently secured an internship in Noida, Sector 62, and I’ll be traveling from Assam. I’m planning to take a flight from Guwahati to New Delhi, and I need some advice on the best way to reach Sector 62 from the airport. Any suggestions on transportation options (like metro, buses, or cabs) would be greatly appreciated! Also, as I’m new to the area, I’d love some general tips for navigating and settling into Noida. Are there any specific areas near Sector 62 that are convenient for someone staying temporarily...

    What's wrong with KGP?

When a suicide happened in the Autumn of last year, A PhD scholar told me that KGP has a quota of suicides, one for each sem and it is something that just happens every year like KTJ or SF The student body which is elected every year after so much drama and spamming on groups seems to be one of the most useless things to exist on campus When was the last time the Junta here organised en masse instead of continuing to be walked all over? It seems...

There is slight hope out there...try Americorps if you can

Hey all, I've posted here long ago about my journey. Basically hadn't had a FT job in 30ish years of existing. But, my dad passed in 2017. He supported me financially. So now, I had to enter the workforce. I lived off inheritance for several years, found a PT gig I hated, etc. Well, in Feb., I found a job through Americorps. They accept people with huge resume gaps, and my job is in a school tutoring math--so, I get summers off, holidays, weekends, etc. And, we only work...

Fuck, marry, kill: cast iron, HDPE and titanium

Fuck, marry, kill is a type of question like "would you rather", except you have to choose what would do "fuck" (maybe do some side projects with, or some really cool shit), what would you "marry" (use for the rest of your life etc), and what would you "kill" (never use ever again)

Spending money for customer discovery and validation

I am looking to create a solution for training mechanics. I do not own a car (since I also work on public transit). But have been doing a lot of cold outreaches to dealers but it has been slow and difficult to validate any traction. Do you recommend spending $$ to attract discovery interviews through SEM? Is that worth it or not? And if yes, how do you recommend setting this up? Do I just put a landing page together and spend a little bit of money on SEM?...

Realme wireless earbuds are giving me unbearable headache

There's something really wrong with realme earbuds, I have realme earbuds, previously I have used other brands earbuds but never had any headache or anything. Every time I use these earbuds my head starts paining in 15-20 minutes, it gets so intense that I have to remove these. There are no research paper on if these products harm mentally or can cause any disorders, cancer etc. but there are discussions everywhere online, few months back I asked same thing and many agreed that it causes headache and ear pain,...
