Older iMac from storage, cannot update OS and related

Hello Apple friends, I have an older iMac (late 2013) that hasn’t been powered up in maybe 3-4 years. Running OS Yosemite 10.10.5, 3.2Ghz Intel Core i5 w/8gb 1600 MHz DDR3 ram. Caendar App taking file extension priority over Thunderbird

Countless times I have set the .ics extension to open exclusively in Thunderbird but MacOS keeps resetting to the Calendar app for it and I have no idea why. Any ideas on how to stop this behavior? I do not wish to use Calendar at all.

It’s crazy to me how people think Windows has better window management than MacOS.

On what planet? On what basis? Alt+tab becomes a mess if you have a decent amount of windows open. There is no Command+Tilde equivalent to cycle through an app’s windows. There is no Command+H equivalent to hide all windows of an app. There is no Command+Click equivalent to reposition a window behind your active window.
