Thane Club membership

Has anybody here taken or know someone who has a membership in Thane club? I saw 2-3 places where it only says 5 or 10 year memberships minimum. Is this true? I wanted to learn swimming and maybe play badminton occasionally. I stay quite close. TIA. P.S. Cannot afford a high membership amount
