New to this, need Ideas!

I’m in the process of putting my idea together and need investors or partners. It’s a solid idea so I don’t fear it’ll be rejected I just don’t know how to go about meeting people that might be interested. I know they are some VC events that happen in the San Francisco Bay Area is this the best way to go? The majority of the funds and investment I’ll need is for marketing and app development as I won’t be needing any physical products. I appreciate all the inputs and suggestions.
