This keyword lost search interest after the March Core Update 2023
The keyword began gaining user interest in 2022 but suddenly saw a sharp decline immediately after the March Core Update 2023. Interestingly, the keyword remains popular on other search engines like Bing, Yahoo, and Yandex, maintaining the same level of interest as in 2022. However, it has lost search interest on Google. (Refer to below image) Keywords are losing their relevance because Google no longer provides results that align with what users expect for a particular keyword. Instead, Google displays results based on its own priorities, often leaving users frustrated and leading them to stop searching for the keyword altogether. By doing so, Google is also limiting diversity in search results for the majority of its users. Earlier, I conducted a study on over 5,600 keywords that maintained a high level of search interest (popularity) for years but lost their relevance after the HCU update. Now, I am observing the popularity patterns of short-term keywords that had just started gaining traction before the HCU update but completely lost their relevance afterward. While these keywords lost their popularity on Google, they have still maintained a strong level of intensity on other search engines. This difference requires dedicated study and investigation. To clarify, this is not a product-related keyword that went viral and then faded away. If Google had continued showing the type of results that existed before 2022, this keyword could have gained 4x its popularity on Google by now. **Improvement doesn't always mean changing things; sometimes, it's about finding value in what already exists.**1
