Why Is Baner Hills Restricted After Evening?

Me and two of my friends went to Baner Hills on 7th December 2024. We were visiting after 2–3 months. We usually like to go in the evening and return by 9 PM. This time, we climbed the hill in the evening as usual. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary, but I noticed that we didn’t see anyone else around. Normally, we encounter around 10–12 people during the climb, but this time, it was just us. While it felt a little odd, we didn’t think much of it. We hung out at our usual favorite spot. When it was time to leave, we started descending and ran into two policemen. They stopped us and started interrogating us angrily—asking why we were on the hill at this hour, what we were doing, and other similar questions. They even checked us thoroughly, almost like criminals, even sniffing our hands. After confirming our identities, they let us go but issued a strict warning. They said this was a restricted area and no one was allowed to be there after evening. My question is: what on earth happened there? That level of checking felt very serious. TL;DR: Went to Baner Hills in the evening with friends, ran into police during the descent who interrogated and searched us like criminals. They said the area is restricted after evening. Why is this?
