Meeting new people

I have been in the city for a while. Did my college from here. Looking out for a job change and I have lost touch with my old friends since a long while now. I feel like somewhere I don't belong with them. I am looking to meet and connect with new people, new friend circles and people more progressive. Any tips on how would you do it if you were in my shoes?
