Fellow bikers, never give lift to a stranger in Pune
I have always liked the people of Pune and Pune since I moved here just over a year back from far far away. Always ignored the traffic problem and traffic rules being overlooked and tried my best to love the city. All the incidents are when I was on my bike: So last year an elderly uncle asked me for lift in Amanora area and I was happy to help. He then started small talk like so many speed breakers, nice bike etc before he started trying to convert me to Christianity.I didnt like it, felt cheated. I looked him as an old man who needed help but in return he tried to convert me. Even when he got off he gave me his card, it had his phone number and some pastor written on it.I threw it where it belonged, in the dustbin of the chai shop. Once a mausi who appeared to be from economically weaker section of the society asked for lift. Must be over 40 years and had a jhola. I was happy to help. On the way I told her in Hindi that I was coming upto this point. She said something in Marathi very innocently, which i couldn't understand, but I can make out that she wanted to be dropped further. I obliged.Nothing wrong here all good.Reporting a normal incident as well. Today a guy asked me for lift behind Amanora area. I told him I am just going to the main road and not very far to be able to give him a lift, to which he replied, drop me until there. He told he comes from Nasik and asked my 'gaon', which is basically the Pune/Maharashtra equivalent of asking your hometown, I told him about my hometown which is in UP. He told he is leaving for Prayagraj today in a group and started saying punya ho rha hai. He then suddenly started speaking like a guy possessed and told a lot of things about me which were indeed true, he even knew I have anger management issues and also told about some recent incidents in my life. Coincidentally my friend made me speak to an astrologer recently who after seeing my kundali told a few things. This guy while sitting at the pillion seat also mentioned many of the same things. I then told him this is where I am coming upto. He said something in Marathi and then said 'punya ka kaam hai jaruri kaam hai' and asked me to take him further. I continued after some distance he asked me to stop my bike, and the whole time he kept saying thing to me about me like a psychic most of which were true. I was surprised, amazed and confused at the same time. He then asked me to give him a pen and paper. I took mu notebook and pen out from my bag, he wrote something in it and closed it. He told keep you hands on the notebook and asked me to choose a number b/w a range. He then told your mother is ill, which she actually is since a long time. He then said think a number b/w this range for your mother. I did. He then asked to select a flower for your mother. I told lotus he said think something else, I said sunflower he again asked something else and have me 4 options. By now I had given up and went for the most common option of 'Gulab' rose. He asked to open the notebook and i saw he had written the 2 numbers I guessed and gulab. He then asked to tie 3 knots in a piece of thread he gave me. At this time I could sense where it was going. I asked him what will happen at the end of this conversation. He said tie the knots. I asked again tell me what will happen at the end of all this (i was trying to make him to come to the point of asking for money). He said he is going to Prayagraj and he will feed the blind and orphans and said you have helped orphans in past (which I actually had). He asked how much will you give 11k, 15k I aaid I don't have that much money. He kept insisting, I said 500. He felt disappointed. I told I am not carrying money he said UPI ho jaega. He asked me to take out my wallet. I told I just have 500. He said I had more, I showed him. It was 500. He took 500 and asked to get 600 from ATM. I refused. I know I did wrong and shouldn't have given the money but that guy knew my mother was I'll and I was going through a lot of thought in my mind and mixed emotions. He then said gusset toh nai ho. I said no and left. I am not sure what happened there and how he knew so much about me. He also knew that I came back from abroad and wanted to stay in India, one can guess trivial things but how can they tell specific things.3
