Can somebody help

Jai Jagannath!! My surname is Patra. Earlier I used to General, then there was this declaration that only brahman and karana are general. I had to change it to SEBC. My father is from Raju community smth close to WB border. Now I want to appear for entrance exams like jee mains, cuet. What should I apply as my category, obc or SEBC or general? My parents' annual income is less than one lakh :) I heard that SEBC can be converted into obc ncl, is it true?? Please help
