  • How long do you think Odia will survive ?

How long do you think Odia will survive before getting the 'Hindi-dialect' treatment And don't let you emotions fool you thinking logically disappearce of Odia seems inevitable along with other Regional Languages here's why 1. Odias lack the will to preserve their language because their lack of ethnic pride which makes them vulnerable to Hindi imposition. 2. Lack of quality Odia content on social media, this might not feel like a big reason but it is. Because of lack of Odia content be it educational, entertaining etc Hindi content is more available with better quality which decreases the value of Odia in average Odia teen's life 3. This might feel controversial but increase in Hindu nationalism is creating a homogeneous identy linguistically and culturally where if you don't follow the Hindi-belt culture you aren't real hindu, going back to 2nd point majority of hindu nationalist content and slogans are in Hindi aswell 4. False belief of Hindi being a national language that unites India, and current wave of Hindu Nationalism makes it worse 5. Odias clinging to Desi/Hindu/North India identity rather than Odia because of inferiority complex, Odia has practically no soft power, influence or pride according to younger generations of Odia, I have seen many Odias claiming themselves as Punjabi Haryanvi or Delhite because being Odia is shameful for them. 6. Lowkey imposition of Hindi on every Indian state by the centre like the 'three language policy' and also many statements from leaders of ruling party suggests that they are in the favour of making Hindi common language between every state in India.
