Why Are Tribals Only Called Assamese When It's Convenient?

People keep barking in the comment sections, claiming that everyone who lives in Assam is Assamese. I want to ask these guys: Is our language called Assamese language? No! The Assamese language is only the Kamrupi language, which is now known as the Assamese language today. The Boro language is never called Assamese, the Rabha language is never called Assamese, and the Koch language is never called Assamese either. Now, let’s come to the food topic. We, the tribals, eat pork, silkworms, bats, frogs, water beetles, etc.—things that no one else dares to eat. These are our cultural foods. Are these foods called Assamese food? Never. I’ve already seen tons of comments from the non-tribal communities saying these are not Assamese traditional foods, they are tribal foods. > > See, the people themselves reject us as Assamese when it comes to food, yet they only want us to be called Assamese when it’s about unity. At other times, we are referred to as tribals, while they refer to themselves as Assamese only. Lmao.
