Tired of Northeast Being Randomly Dragged Into Things That Have Nothing to Do With Us

Just had an interaction with someone who was desperately trying to connect Assam (and by extension, the Northeast) to the RSS, even though Assam has a completely different ethnicity, language, and history. When asked to explain the connection, they couldn't. Instead, they admitted they "don't care about Assam" and were just using it as bait to push their own agenda. This isn't the first time the Northeast gets tagged along with things that have nothing to do with us whether it’s political narratives, stereotypes, or forced associations with mainland issues. We have our own unique cultures, struggles, and perspectives, yet we're constantly lumped in with narratives that erase our identity. How do you all feel about this? Do you ever get frustrated seeing the Northeast being treated like a convenient prop rather than a region with its own voice?
