Best friend coming out of the closet. Also, getting scammed and thrashed

A while back, we were having a 3am discussion on a weekend and one of my closest friends, and a former colleague confessed his homosexuality to me. Not a problem for me, but sure as hell it’s a problem for him. He’s married into a political family. Dad in law is a former MLA, wife being groomed to become one in coming times. He met someone through a dating app and a date was set. Upon meeting, turned out to be some kinda scam wherein the one he matched with called up some more bulky dudes and bashed up my friend. Those dudes demanded money, and my friend gave away some 5k on the spot and ran for his life. Now the thing is, he’s shit scared that those guys will figure out that he’s married since they belong to the same community and eventually the main bamboo will come from his Dad in law. His wife has been constantly asking about beat marks on his face and she shares every goddamn daily routine detail with her parents.
