Good degree colleges in Mangalore

Hey guys I'm from Maharashtra giving my 12th boards right now after 12th I'm thinking of moving to another state for my bachelor's (science) and I thought that Mangalore would be nice city for me to to live in as I love beaches and warm weather My main questions are 1. Is veg food available or good in Mangalore ? 2. What college should I apply to? as I want to do bsc in either biotechnology or biochemistry 3. Should I learn kannada? as I can only speak 3 lang (mar, hindi, eng) 4. How safe is Mangalore for girls ?
