Why is pork and water buffalo meat not prevalent in marathi cuisine?
Hello sagde zan. Maaze don rajasthani aani kannada mitra aahe. That rajasthani guy(rajput) eats pork and water buffalo meat sometimes(he says bali dena but it's very rarely done, not common at all). He has told me this and also said in his village people themselves get this meat slaughtered without getting it done by a butcher. My kannada friend(kodava) is from madikeri in coorg. He said pork is usually eaten in their community. My question is there any native or indidenous pork dish or water buffalo dish from Maharashtra? Also, what about rabbit or sheep meat? As a marathi, my family eats goat(mutton), fish and chicken only. But, my friends cuisine has made me search for similar meat dishes from Maharashtra.1
