Mac Photos Folder Export & Sync

Now that the Photos app finally supports folders, I'm hoping to try this project again - synchronizing Mac Photos with an existing directory structure on a shared external HD (we'll call it "My Passport") in my LAN. My Passport is connected to a Mac Mini (personal media server (Emby)), which stores/organizes/serves my media libraries for a handful of users. After replicating the directory structure from the Photos app on the external HD, the goal is to copy new items (matching preset criteria) added to the Photos app over to My Passport, so Emby can "see" it & automatically add it to the appropriate library. Some kind of chron job or Automator script set to run on a consistent schedule, or whenever a new item is added to Photos. The latter is probably best. Anyway, I've tried dedicated sync apps before without any success, and I'd prefer to avoid any new software or funky Terminal commands. Assuming Apple finds a way to correct the unbelievable littany of bugs in Sequoia (one of which just shuts off the internet & requires a restart, and suddenly makes My Passport not found or missing the right permissions), I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. Thank you!!
